From May 10th, 2017:

The annual University of Illinois Day at the Capital was a successful event attended by Alumni, Faculty, Deans and Administration. As an Engineer, I experienced how networking and perseverance goes a long way to speak up for adequate funding from the State and Federal government. We were treated to some lunch and then we headed off to the state capital building for a quick picture and commencing the work of meeting the legislators and providing them the info about the University’s new funding program in request form. We worked together as a team and accomplished our part of the overall duty of disseminating the information. It was an experience I will have about making a positive impact, if not for myself, maybe for a future or prospective student that can benefit from attending a great University.
